Gorontalo Province Joins Top 15 of Indonesia Muslim Travel Index 2026

The provincial government of Gorontalo has been accepted into the top‑15 destinations of the Indonesia Muslim Travel Index (IMTI) for 2026. The Ministry of Tourism evaluated the province against the ACES framework – Access, Communication, Environment and Service – and confirmed that Gorontalo meets the required standards for Muslim‑friendly tourism. The assessment covered transport links, promotional activities, sustainable tourism policies, halal‑certified restaurants, hotels and visitor information centres.

Inclusion in IMTI will give Gorontalo national exposure through the Ministry’s Muslim‑friendly tourism portal, priority support for halal certification of local UMKM tourism businesses, and access to programmes that promote the region’s cultural and religious attractions to domestic and international visitors.
