Gorontalo Province Records Diverging Economic Trends in Mid‑2026

In July 2026 the farmer price index (NTP) in Indonesia’s Gorontalo Province fell 5.99 % to 123.19, driven mainly by a 44.39 % drop in horticultural prices. The index of prices received by farmers declined 7.74 % while the index of prices paid fell only 1.86 %, indicating a widening gap between farm income and expenses.

During the same period, Gorontalo’s economy showed strong growth in the second quarter of 2026, expanding 6.20 % year‑on‑year – the highest rate among Sulawesi provinces. Regional GDP (PDRB) at constant prices rose to Rp9.136 trillion. Mining and quarrying output surged 59.96 %, processing industries grew 33.34 %, and trade and accommodation increased 10.81 %. Agriculture remained the largest contributor, accounting for 34.74 % of the provincial economy, followed by trade (15.12 %) and construction (10.83 %). Household consumption drove 61.18 % of GDP, with exports and gross fixed capital formation also posting gains.
