Gorski Kotar residents advised to boil drinking water

Residents in the settlements of Tršće, Čabar, Prezid, and Mandli in the Gorski Kotar region are advised to boil tap water before consumption due to bacteriological contamination.

The Primorsko-goranska County Institute of Public Health reported that water samples collected on September 24 as part of Ministry of Health monitoring failed to meet compliance standards for human consumption.

To mitigate health risks, authorities recommend either consuming certified safe bottled water or boiling tap water for at least three minutes. Boiled water should be stored in the same containers used during the boiling process to maintain disinfection. These measures remain in effect until subsequent testing confirms the water is free of microbiological contamination.
