Gosho Aoyama reveals Detective Conan final chapter draft is ready

Gosho Aoyama, the creator of the long-running manga series Detective Conan, has revealed that he has already drafted the preliminary storyboard layouts, known as ‘name’ in Japanese, for the series' final chapter.

The disclosure occurred during a television appearance on YTV’s ‘24-Jikan Terebi Saishin Jōhō SP’ alongside guests CHANMINA and Taiga Kyōmoto. When asked if he plans his work by looking toward the end, Aoyama confirmed, ‘I have drafted the thumbnail layouts for the final chapter.’

While the revelation has sparked significant fan speculation, the author noted that these are rough layouts rather than a finished chapter. Detective Conan has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Sunday since January 1994 and has since grown into a massive multimedia franchise including an anime series and various films.
