Gospić citizens demand revocation of lithium factory permit

The citizen initiative ‘Gospić je naš dom’ is demanding that the City of Gospić revoke the building permit for a lithium factory. The group claims the factory was constructed illegally without a required environmental impact study.

According to the initiative, investors allegedly altered documentation and technology details to bypass environmental regulations. They assert that citizens successfully proved the existing environmental report was inaccurate and partially copied from a different project near Sisak. While the Ministry was forced to annul the opinion that served as the basis for the permits, the initiative claims the investor has continued work and the city refuses to cancel the building permit.
