Gotha hosts cultural events including Achava-Festspiele opening

The Achava-Festspiele Thüringen will launch its 2026 season on September 23 with an opening concert at the Kulturhaus Gotha. The event features a collaboration between the a cappella band Maybepop and the Thüringen-Philharmonie Gotha-Eisenach, conducted by Markus Huber. The performance, titled ‘Stimmen des Volkes – Lasst uns gemeinsam singen’, aims to blend pop, jazz, classical, and comedy with symphonic sounds.

Other local cultural activities in Gotha include a reading by author Rotraut Greßler regarding the historical connection between astronomer Franz Xaver von Zach and clockmaker Jacob Auch at the old Gotha observatory. Additionally, the Goethe-Gesellschaft Gotha has scheduled a lecture at the Volkshochschule Gotha for September 22, 2026.
