Gotham Film Awards to honor ‘Michael’ cast and crew

The Gotham Film & Media Institute has announced that the cast and creative team of the biographical film ‘Michael’ will be honored with the Gotham Musical Tribute at the 36th Annual Gotham Film Awards. The ceremony is scheduled for November 30, 2026, at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

The tribute recognizes the performers and filmmakers behind the Lionsgate production, which has grossed over $1 billion worldwide, making it the highest-grossing biographical film to date. Honorees include director Antoine Fuqua, actors Jaafar Jackson, Coloman Domingo, and Nia Long, as well as producer Graham King.

The film depicts Michael Jackson’s life and career, tracing his trajectory from his beginnings with The Jackson Five to his status as a global entertainer. The production was written by John Logan and features a cast including Miles Teller, Laura Harrier, and Juliano Krue Valdi.
