Gothic Classic released for iPhone and iPad

THQ Nordic Mobile has released Gothic Classic, a full mobile port of the original 2001 RPG, on iPhone and iPad. The game was released globally on September 24 and is available via the App Store.

Unlike many mobile titles, this version is a complete port of the original game developed by Piranha Bytes rather than a remake or a version with microtransactions. It retains the original graphics, mechanics, and story, offering over 50 hours of gameplay. The release does not include free-to-play elements, advertisements, or in-app purchases; instead, it is available for a one-time purchase price of approximately 9.99 € (or 199 Kč in the Czech Republic).

To accommodate mobile hardware, developers updated the user interface, navigation, and combat systems for touchscreens. Players can also use a compatible gamepad, or a keyboard and mouse on iPad. The game requires iOS or iPadOS 17.6 or newer and includes two rendering modes to switch between the original look and modern filters.
