Gotland announces influenza and Covid-19 vaccination schedule
Vaccination bookings for influenza and Covid-19 on the island of Gotland will open on October 26, with clinics beginning operations on November 3. The rollout is timed to coincide with the peak circulation of these viruses during the winter months.
Public health recommendations for the 2026 autumn and 2027 winter seasons vary based on age and medical risk factors. Individuals aged 75 and older, as well as those receiving daily home care or living in residential care facilities, are advised to receive both vaccines. Those aged 65 and older are specifically recommended to receive the influenza vaccine.
Certain medical risk groups, including those with cardiovascular disease, chronic pulmonary disease, diabetes, or liver and kidney failure, are advised to seek influenza vaccination. Additionally, adults aged 50 and older within these risk groups are recommended to receive the Covid-19 vaccine. Individuals with impaired immune systems, such as those with certain blood cancers or Down syndrome, are advised to receive both inoculations.
