GotRot launches moisture inspection initiative for Seattle homeowners

GotRot, a contractor specializing in moisture-related structural repairs, has launched its Fall 2026 Dry Rot and Moisture Inspection Initiative for homeowners in the Greater Seattle area. The campaign aims to address potential water intrusion and wood deterioration before the intensification of the Pacific Northwest rainy season.

According to NOAA climate normals, precipitation at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport typically increases significantly during the fall, rising from an average of 1.61 inches in September to over 6 inches in November. The initiative encourages residents to inspect for leaks, damaged siding, failed window or door assemblies, and deck deterioration to prevent small issues from becoming costly structural repairs.

A specific focus is placed on crawl spaces, which are vulnerable to moisture accumulation due to damaged vapor barriers, poor foundation drainage, or leaking plumbing. Mark Kovalevich, owner of GotRot, noted that moisture problems often remain hidden until they manifest as musty odors, sagging insulation, or soft wood in the home's structure.
