GoTyme Bank launches Apple Pay in the Philippines

GoTyme Bank has become the first digital bank in the Philippines to enable Apple Pay, a move supported by issuer processor Paymentology. The launch allows the bank’s 10 million customers to add their GoTyme debit cards to Apple Wallet for contactless payments in stores, apps, and online.

The service utilizes tokenization technology to ensure card numbers are not stored on devices or shared with merchants. Instead, a unique Device Account Number is used, with transactions requiring authentication via Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode. Nate Clark, President and CEO of GoTyme Bank, stated that the integration aims to make banking simpler, safer, and more rewarding while allowing customers to continue earning rewards points on transactions.
