GoTyme Bank launches Apple Pay in the Philippines

GoTyme Bank has become the first digital bank in the Philippines to enable Apple Pay, supported by issuer processor Paymentology. This launch allows GoTyme’s 10 million customers to add their debit cards to Apple Wallet for secure, contactless payments using Face ID, Touch ID, or passcodes.

While GoTyme, Chinabank, Metrobank, and UnionBank have integrated with Apple Pay, the country’s largest bank by assets, BDO Unibank, currently lacks support for both Apple Pay and Google Wallet. BDO appears to be prioritizing its own digital ecosystem, as its BDO Pay app was recently recognized at The Asian Banker Philippine Awards 2026. BDO customers can still utilize contactless cards at terminals or use the BDO Pay app for QR payments and transfers.
