Gouden Vrienden foundation launches to support elderly in Dijk en Waard

The Gouden Vrienden foundation has officially launched in Dijk en Waard to support elderly residents. The organization aims to facilitate social activities and help seniors organize outings to prevent isolation and loneliness.

The foundation held its inaugural event at Theater Cool in Heerhugowaard, featuring plays centered on the experience of aging. To support its mission, Gouden Vrienden is collaborating with the Pieter Raat Stichting, an elderly care provider that contributes approximately 200 volunteers to assist with various initiatives.

One such activity includes specialized wheelchair cycling trips, made possible through contributions from the foundation, to help residents remain active and engaged with their community.
