Goulburn to host major international traditional karate championships

Goulburn is set to host the International Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-do Federation (IOGKF) Asian Pacific Gasshuku and Australian National Championships from November 5 to November 8. The event is expected to be the largest traditional karate gathering held globally in 2026.

Approximately 220 participants representing 20 countries will attend the four-day event. Hosted by the Australian Okinawa Goju-Ryu Karate Federation (AOGKF), the championships will take place at the Lambert Karate Dojo, Veolia Arena, and Goulburn Basketball Stadium. This marks the largest IOGKF gathering in the Asia-Pacific region outside of Japan and is the first such event held in Australia since 1998.
