Goulburn wool selling centre on track for 2027 opening

A new wool selling centre currently under construction in Goulburn is expected to be operational for auctions by January 9, 2027. The facility will facilitate the transition of wool sales from Yennora to Goulburn.

Project officials, including Nutrien eastern wool operations manager David Hart, report that while refurbishing older buildings on the Finlay Road site has presented challenges, the framework for new salerooms, offices, and dining facilities is in place. The move aims to encourage growers by allowing them to witness their products being sold.

During the 2025-26 season, Yennora handled 434,870 bales, representing 29.1 per cent of national throughput, despite a year-on-year decrease. Nutrien, which co-owns Australian Wool Handlers (AWH) with DP World Australia, has confirmed it will no longer maintain a presence at the Yennora site.
