Governador Valadares organizations condemn political violence

Forty social organizations, unions, and political groups in Governador Valadares have released a manifesto titled “Valadares pela democracia e contra a violência política” following incidents of political violence.

The manifesto follows a campaign procession by the Brigada de Agitação e Propaganda Lula Presidente on a recent Sunday. According to the document, participants were subjected to provocations, threats, and physical aggression while passing near a campaign event for Cleitinho Azevedo.

Among those involved in the confrontation were PSOL state deputy candidate Danilo Korvo and a teenager who sustained minor head injuries. The signatory organizations are calling for clarifications regarding the actions of the Military Police during the incident and are advocating for permanent mobilization against political violence in the region.
