Government authorities in Uruguay and Argentina issue official denials

Authorities in Río Negro, Uruguay, issued a statement clarifying an incident at the Intendencia's central building. The administration denied reports that they refused to assist an individual involved in a disturbance. Officials stated they attempted to listen to and guide the person before security intervention was required due to increasing agitation. The statement also noted that Mayor Guillermo Levratto was in Montevideo at the time for institutional activities related to a solar park project.

In Argentina, Governor Axel Kicillof denied media reports claiming a detained woman was a functionary of his government. Kicillof clarified that the individual, Albertina Mangini, is an employee of the Provincial Judiciary and has no labor link to the Ministry of Justice. The Governor criticized the newspaper Clarín for publishing the information without consulting official sources and called for a public rectification of the report.
