Government Housing Bank announces flood relief measures in Thailand
The Government Housing Bank (GHB) has announced seven relief measures to assist citizens affected by recent heavy rainfall and flash flooding. Under the ‘2026 Flood Victim Assistance Measures’, the bank is offering debt moratoriums and interest rate reductions.
Existing customers whose properties were impacted can receive a three-month debt moratorium with a 0% interest rate. For those whose homes are severely damaged and uninhabitable, the moratorium extends to six months at 0% interest. Additionally, customers can apply for loans of up to 300,000 THB for home repairs with preferential interest rates.
New and existing customers may also access loans of up to 2 million THB for repairing or rebuilding homes. These loans feature a 0% interest rate for the first three months, followed by tiered rates over a five-year period. The bank is also waiving collateral appraisal fees to ease the financial burden on affected residents.
