Government Inspectorate of Vietnam launches nationwide inspection of long-standing complaints

The Government Inspectorate of Vietnam has launched a nationwide thematic inspection to resolve long-standing, escalated, and complex complaints and denunciations that pose risks to social security and order.

Deputy Inspector General Nguyen Van Cuong announced that the inspection will initially focus on seven provinces and cities: Lai Chau, Lao Cai, Phu Tho, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Hung Yen, and Thai Nguyen. The inspection period is set for 30 working days from the announcement date.

The initiative aims to evaluate how local authorities and administrative agencies handle citizen reception and complaint resolution. The goal is to clarify responsibilities, identify shortcomings, and propose feasible solutions to prevent mass petitions and escalated grievances. Officials emphasized that the objective is not merely to address the cases within their authority but to resolve them decisively and objectively.
