Government officials address healthcare and social welfare in Montenegro and Serbia
In Montenegro, Deputy Prime Minister for Health and Social Welfare Jelena Borovinić Bojović visited the Grabovac elderly home in Risno. During the visit, she assessed the quality of care and the living conditions of residents. Borovinić Bojović noted the dedication of the staff, particularly the involvement of doctors in daily care, but identified a critical shortage of mid-level medical personnel, such as nurses and caregivers. She stated that the findings would inform future efforts to improve working conditions and secure necessary medical equipment.
In Serbia, Minister for Labor, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Milica Đurđević Stamenkovski visited the Ranđelović family in Crepaja to discuss social support. The family provides full-time care for Anja, who suffers from neurological issues and epilepsy. The Minister highlighted that new measures have made essential medications free for the family, relieving a significant financial burden. Additionally, the implementation of the parent-caregiver law is expected to provide the family with increased legal protection and social security.
