Government officials in Ghana and South Africa emphasize educational quality
In Ghana, the Deputy Minister for Education addressed the 33rd Conference of Directors of Education (CODE) in Bolgatanga. The Deputy Minister urged district leadership to bridge the gap between policy formulation in Accra and actual classroom implementation. Emphasizing that national objectives depend on proactive district management, the official called for a focus on 21st-century skills, including digital literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving, to meet the demands of the modern global economy.
In South Africa, Deputy President Paul Mashatile reaffirmed the government's commitment to improving educational quality and creating opportunities for youth. During a visit to Ohlange High School in Inanda, Mashatile announced plans to strengthen the school's infrastructure through an investment of approximately R137.9 million. The visit also honored the historical legacy of the school, which is associated with liberation icon Dr. John Langalibalele Dube and former President Nelson Mandela.
