Government officials lead sanitation drive in Guinea and energy inspections in Cameroon
In Guinea, Environment Minister Fassou Théa led a public sanitation operation in the Dixinn commune of Conakry as part of Independence Week festivities. The initiative, coordinated by Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah, aims to combat urban pollution and improve living conditions. The campaign includes strategic reforestation efforts in areas such as the Démoudoula forest and the Botanical Garden, alongside a program to distribute trash bins to households and public buildings to manage single-use plastics.
In Cameroon, Minister of Water and Energy Gaston Eloundou Essomba conducted inspections of 18 service stations and filling centers across Yaoundé to address domestic gas and kerosene shortages. During the field visit, the Minister identified various supply chain failures, noting instances where gas stocks were at critical levels or kerosene was unavailable. He issued immediate instructions to operators to accelerate replenishment and resolve logistical difficulties.
