Governmental bodies implement new transparency and anti-corruption measures

Governmental bodies in the Dominican Republic and Mexico are implementing measures to strengthen public transparency and anti-corruption frameworks.

In the Dominican Republic, the Barahona City Council participated in a workshop focused on the regulatory framework for public information, integrity, and transparency. Organized by the General Directorate of Government Ethics and Integrity (DIGEIG) alongside various municipal federations, the session addressed access to information and institutional ethics. A key focus was the new SISMAP Municipal item regarding the Integrity and Regulatory Compliance Commission, aimed at fostering an ethical culture within local governments.

In Mexico, the Coordinating Committee of the State Anticorruption System held its eighth ordinary session to discuss actions for enhancing transparency. The committee proposed creating informative materials, such as infographics, to help citizens understand how to report failures in transparency obligations. The initiative seeks to improve communication regarding the system's functions and strengthen the coordination between participating institutions to ensure citizens can effectively demand institutional accountability.
