Fana Soumah assumes leadership of Guinea's Communication Ministry

Fana Soumah has officially taken office as Guinea's Minister of Communication, Digital Economy, and Innovation. The installation ceremony, held on October 28, 2026, marked the end of the interim leadership provided by Souleymane Thianguel Bah.

Soumah outlined a strategic roadmap centered on three pillars: responsible public communication, digital economy, and innovation. He aims to modernize public services, foster national cohesion through transparent information, and leverage digital technologies to create jobs for the youth. These objectives are aligned with the ‘Simandou 2040’ socio-economic development program promoted by President Mamadi Doumbouya.

The expanded ministry now oversees five distinct areas: communication, postal services, telecommunications, digital economy, and innovation. Soumah emphasized his commitment to using these sectors as strategic levers for the nation's economic and social development.
