Ademola Adeleke initiates reconciliation efforts in Osun State

Following his re-election, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has launched several initiatives focused on political reconciliation and state governance. To foster peace after a contentious election, Adeleke has reached out to opposition leaders and former governors, including Bisi Akande, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, and Rauf Aregbesola. While some leaders have engaged in discussions, others, such as Gboyega Oyetola and Bola Oyebamiji, have not yet responded to his outreach.

To address the aftermath of electoral violence, the Governor announced the establishment of a Commission of Inquiry and an election victim compensation fund. He pledged to pursue an inclusive administration to heal the divisions within the state. Additionally, Adeleke has taken administrative steps by dissolving and reconstituting the Governing Council of Osun State University (UNIOSUN) to ensure institutional continuity.

On a personal note, the Governor celebrated the birthday of his wife, Erelu Abeni Ngozi Adeleke, praising her humanitarian work through the Esther Adeleke Humanitarian Foundation. Meanwhile, Osun State University has also opened applications for its 2026/2027 postgraduate academic session.
