Mexican states fund roads, water and education projects
Governor Alejandro Armenta approved the construction of the fifth campus of the University of the Health of the State of Puebla in Tecamachalco, converting the former Ayocuan market. The project was championed by local deputy Andrés Villegas and mayor Mateo Hernández.
Agua de Puebla is renovating the hydraulic network in Puebla’s historic centre, spending 9.7 million pesos to replace 423 m of 12‑inch pipe and 421 m of 24‑inch pipe. The work is 80 % complete, serves 8,870 residents and businesses, and is slated to finish 31 August.
Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla inaugurated the Boulevard Elías Pérez Ávalos in Madero, Michoacán, a 1.3‑km upgrade that will ease traffic for more than 6,200 vehicles daily. The state invested 78 million pesos, including access improvements for the community of Etúcuaro and delivery of about 300 tonnes of cement. A separate road rehabilitation on the Villa Madero‑Etúcuaro stretch is 72 % complete, covering 11.8 km and improving flow for roughly 816 vehicles each day.
In Monclova, Coahuila, Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas and Mayor Carlos Villarreal launched infrastructure works worth over 10.4 million pesos, including rehabilitation of a water line and resurfacing of several streets across multiple colonias.
Governor David Monreal Ávila delivered pavement projects in Chaparrosa, Villa de Cos, investing more than 10.3 million pesos, and announced further road and agricultural support for the municipality.
COMAPA Sur in Tamaulipas completed the renewal of 63.37 km of water‑supply and drainage pipes, a five‑fold increase over previous administrations.
The municipal government of San Juan del Río (Querétaro) plans to centralise services at the former Cerro Gordo hacienda, with a 3.5 million‑peso investment from JAPAM to create new offices and improve public spaces.
