Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño pushes aerospace cluster in Sonora

Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño convened officials from Sonora's government, academia and the aerospace sector, including General Disraelí Gómez Herrera, director of the Feria Aeroespacial México (FAMEX), and Francisco Acuña, president of the Consejo para el Desarrollo Sostenible del Estado de Sonora (CODESO). The meeting set the basis for a joint agenda to develop an aerospace cluster in the state, leveraging Sonora's advanced manufacturing capabilities, logistics infrastructure, strategic location and proximity to North American markets. Participants outlined plans to attract new aerospace investments, create specialized jobs, develop talent through stronger industry‑academic ties, and prepare for the next edition of FAMEX. Governor Durazo reaffirmed his commitment to diversifying Sonora's economy and strengthening high‑technology sectors.
