Governor Axel Kicillof opens mental health center in Trenque Lauquen, denounces national health cuts

Governor Axel Kicillof inaugurated the Mirta Clara Community Mental Health Center in Trenque Lauquen, a provincial investment of over 1.018 billion Argentine pesos. The 750‑square‑meter facility includes outpatient offices, therapy rooms, a multipurpose hall, workshop classrooms and areas for medication and prosthetic management.

During the ceremony Kicillof, accompanied by Health Minister Nicolás Kreplak and Justice Minister Juan Martín Mena, delivered 458 free property deeds to families under the “Mi Escritura, Mi Casa” program, bringing the total issued in the town to 912. He also criticized the national government’s health policies, accusing President Javier Milei’s administration of defunding public health, suspending medication deliveries and jeopardising projects such as the National Route 5. Kicillof pledged to continue expanding social services and protecting provincial health initiatives despite federal austerity measures.
