Governor Axel Kicillof opens new UTOI police base in Lomas de Zamora
Governor of Buenos Aires Province Axel Kicillof, together with Security Minister Javier Alonso and Lomas de Zamora mayor Federico Otermín, inaugurated a new base of the Unidad Táctica de Operaciones Inmediatas (UTOI) in the municipality of Lomas de Zamora. The facility, located inside the Albertina Water Park, houses more than 100 permanent agents and is equipped with modern patrol vehicles, cameras and artificial‑intelligence tools.
The inauguration also included the delivery of two high‑complexity ambulances for the local emergency system. Officials said the base will strengthen crime prevention and rapid response across neighborhoods such as Villa Centenario, Villa Fiorito, Ingeniero Budge and others. Kicillof framed the project as part of a broader security transformation in the province, emphasizing investment in infrastructure and professionalization of the police force.
