Governor Celina Leão unveils renovated Augustinho Lima Stadium in Sobradinho
Governor Celina Leão inaugurated the newly renovated Augustinho Lima Stadium in Sobradinho, Brazil, after a R$ 6.5 million overhaul funded by the Distrito Federal government. The upgrade includes a modern synthetic football field, a World‑Athletics‑compliant eight‑lane track, refurbished stands, restrooms and new public lighting for night use.
The project also delivered a synthetic training field for Quadra 15, named Campo Marinalvo Gomes de Araújo. Officials highlighted the stadium’s symbolic value as the training ground of Olympic‑medalist hurdler Caio Bonfim, and local residents praised the improved facilities for youth sports and community projects.
