Governor Ignacio Torres signs new collective health workers agreement in Chubut

On Tuesday, Governor Ignacio "Nacho" Torres of Argentina's Chubut province signed a unified Collective Bargaining Agreement for public health workers at the Casa de Gobierno in Rawson. The ceremony was attended by provincial ministers Victoriano Eraso Parodi and Gustavo Paz, cabinet secretary Andrés Arbeletche, and health subsecretary Sergio Bartels, alongside union representatives from ATSA, SISAP, UPCN and AGREMEDCh.

The agreement consolidates reforms negotiated since 2018 into a single instrument, covering more than 7,200 health‑sector employees. It introduces improvements to salary structures, rural service conditions, career progression, research incentives, licensing, guard duties and overall system governance, aiming to provide greater clarity and predictability for the public health workforce.

Torres highlighted the need for consensus amid provincial budget constraints caused by a recession, stressing that collaborative dialogue is essential to enhance health service delivery and secure better working conditions for those who sustain the system.
