Governor Indira Vizcaíno Announces 50 Billion‑Peso School Funding and Addresses Youth Camp in Colima

Governor Indira Vizcaíno Silva of the Mexican state of Colima announced a budget of more than 50 billion pesos to prepare schools for the 2026‑2027 academic cycle. The funding plan was presented alongside her participation in the third Morena youth political camp held in Ixtapan de la Sal, Estado de México, where sixteen young activists from Colima attended.

In a press briefing with Morena leaders Mitzuko Márquez Monroy and Greece Navarro Araiza, Vizcaíno highlighted her political trajectory, noting she is the second woman to govern the state and the leader who achieved the sought‑after alternation of power. She praised the “ColiBecas” scholarship program and stressed the importance of youth political formation, stating, “Tuvimos invitada de lujo, nuestra gobernadora nos platicó de su trayectoria… Hay que decirlo, la calidad de mandataria que tenemos se mostró en este evento.”

The event underscored Morena’s strategy to engage the next generation in the “Cuarta Transformación,” with the youth commissioner Luis Jesús Loera Pérez describing the participants as motivated and aware of the moment’s significance.
