Governor Josh Shapiro launches 29-county bus tour in Pennsylvania
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro and Lieutenant Governor Austin Davis have commenced a 10-day statewide bus tour to mobilize voters ahead of the November 3 election. The tour aims to rally support for the Shapiro-Davis reelection campaign and bolster downballot Democratic candidates as the party seeks to achieve a legislative trifecta in Harrisburg for the first time since 1992.
The tour spans 29 counties, including a mix of urban, suburban, and rural regions. The itinerary includes 14 conservative-leaning counties and 15 counties where the incumbents previously won. During a stop in State College, Shapiro highlighted economic achievements, including the creation of 29,000 jobs and $50 million in private capital investment over the last three years.
Shapiro, who currently leads Republican challenger and State Treasurer Stacy Garrity in polling, also emphasized his administration's efforts regarding education funding, clean energy, and legal challenges against federal policies related to mail voting and reproductive rights.
