Governor Layda Sansores spends 170k+ pesos on first‑class Madrid flight

Campeche Governor Layda Sansores was recorded arriving in Madrid after an 11‑hour Aeroméxico flight (AM21) from Mexico City. She traveled in first class with her sister Laura Sansores, president of the state DIF, and two other companions. Each ticket was reported to cost about 44,000 pesos, bringing the total expense to more than 170,000 pesos.

The trip has sparked criticism because it contradicts the austerity rhetoric of the ruling coalition. Media notes that this is not Sansores' first luxury trip to Europe: she was also seen in first class on a Madrid‑Mexico flight in summer 2024 and was filmed boarding a flight to Amsterdam in August 2025.
