Governor Manolo Jiménez Opens New Military Quarter in Coahuila

Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas, accompanied by General Fernando Colchado Gómez, inaugurated a new military quarter in the ejido San Antonio de las Alazanas, Arteaga, Coahuila. The facility cost more than 14 million pesos to build and equip and will house units of the state police, Mexican Army, National Guard and Navy.

The opening is part of the state’s broader security program, which has invested over 600 million pesos to construct 18 new barracks, a comprehensive security centre and five road‑security arches. Jiménez said, “La seguridad de las y los coahuilenses es el tema más importante para nosotros,” stressing that coordinated institutional effort has resolved 100 % of homicide cases recorded in the state.

Officials highlighted the project as a tangible demonstration of the partnership between the state government and the armed forces, aimed at strengthening public safety throughout the region.
