Governor Manolo Jiménez bolsters security plan in Torreón, Mexico

On 15‑16 June 2026 Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas presided over the municipal Security Panel in Torreón, Coahuila. He reaffirmed that security remains the top priority for the state and highlighted the collaborative effort among the municipal government, civil society, the private sector and security forces. He noted that Torreón now ranks sixth among the safest cities in Mexico and declared, “Los resultados se construyen en equipo.” The governor pledged continued investment to further "blindar" (shield) Torreón, the La Laguna region and the whole state, and presented updated security indicators and a report on ongoing road works.

Jiménez also announced that the process to appoint a substitute mayor for Torreón will be completed before the end of June. He emphasized the need for a candidate with proven ability to manage public services and ensure citizen safety, stressing a smooth, orderly transition to maintain institutional stability.
