Coahuila Governor Manolo Jiménez expands disability aid to 400+ recipients
Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas of Coahuila continued the rollout of the "Veamos por la Discapacidad" program, distributing 10,000‑peso annual cash cards to more than 400 people in the La Laguna region. The initiative is part of the state's broader inclusion program that allocates 20 million pesos to benefit roughly 2,000 persons with disabilities across all 38 municipalities, with a total investment of 330 million pesos for services, therapies, mobility vehicles and infrastructure.
In Ramos Arizpe, the governor and mayor Tomás Gutiérrez Merino handed out 45 scholarships worth 450,000 pesos, further extending support to families. Municipal authorities in Torreón pledged additional resources to add 200 beneficiaries, bringing the total in the region to over 600. The program is coordinated with the DIF Coahuila and local officials, emphasizing five pillars: sensitization, detection, attention, mobility and strengthening of economic aid.
