Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas unveils 600‑million‑peso GEMMSA plant in Coahuila
Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas accompanied executives of Grupo GIASA for the inauguration of the GEMMSA Estructuras Metálicas plant in Saltillo, Coahuila. The first phase of the project involved an investment of more than 600 million Mexican pesos and is expected to generate new jobs and stimulate regional development.
In his remarks, the governor highlighted Coahuila’s advantages for investors: high security, stable labor conditions, strong rule of law, a qualified workforce and reliable services. He noted that the state ranks second among Mexican states for safety and that its cities Saltillo, Torreón and Piedras Negras are among the six safest in the country. Recent INEGI data placed Coahuila at the top of the nation’s quality‑of‑life rankings. Jiménez Salinas said the investment sends a positive message both nationally and internationally despite global economic uncertainty.
