Governor Maru Campos reports rise in security perception in Chihuahua
Governor Maru Campos chaired the Mesa Estatal de Construcción de Paz, where officials presented data showing an increase in public perception of safety across several municipalities in the state of Chihuahua. The State Police achieved a citizen‑confidence level of 62.3 %, surpassing the national average, according to the ENSU survey.
The session also disclosed that 82 people were detained between June 12‑14 for various offenses and that authorities seized more than 6,000 vape devices in the city of Chihuahua, valued at over 1.9 million pesos. Additionally, a specialized women's crimes prosecution unit secured a 42‑year prison sentence for a femicide case involving a three‑month‑old infant. The governor announced that new equipment will be delivered to public security forces in the coming days to strengthen operational capacity.
