Governor Mauricio Kuri calls for stronger legal certainty to boost investment in Querétaro

Governor Mauricio Kuri González addressed the legal community of Querétaro on the occasion of the State Day of the Bar, urging lawyers, litigators and advisers to reinforce legal certainty, professional integrity and dialogue. He said these factors are essential to maintain investor confidence, generate employment and sustain the state’s recent economic performance.

Kuri highlighted that Querétaro ranks fourth nationwide in absolute job creation this year and linked part of that success to clear, predictable legal rules, warning that states lacking such certainty have lost up to 100,000 jobs. He quoted, “Ser íntegro en un momento fácil es muy fácil; ser íntegro en un momento donde sabes que puede tener repercusiones en contra… es cuando verdaderamente vale la pena.”

Representatives of the bar echoed the governor’s message, emphasizing that certainty arises when authorities, litigants and corporate lawyers “hablan el mismo idioma, el de las reglas claras, aplicadas parejo y sin privilegios.” They also noted challenges from technological advances, artificial intelligence and institutional transformation that the legal profession must address.
