Governor Mauricio Kuri delays Querétaro‑San Luis Potosí highway unveiling until land rights secured
Governor Mauricio Kuri confirmed that the executive project for the new highway linking Querétaro and San Luis Potosí is fully completed, but the state will postpone a formal public presentation until the right‑of‑way (derecho de vía) process is fully resolved. The 95.5‑km Type A4, four‑lane highway will connect San Juan del Río with Tequisquiapan, continue toward Querétaro International Airport and end at the Fray Junípero Serra beltway. Land acquisition is currently 30‑35 % complete, with negotiations proceeding without major issues. The concession will be awarded to the company Omega for a 30‑35‑year term. If the right‑of‑way is secured as planned, construction could begin in late 2026 or early 2027 and last about two years, aiming to ease traffic congestion and improve regional connectivity.
