Governor Natembeya declines 2027 presidential bid to back Sifuna

Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has announced that he will not seek the presidency in the 2027 General Election. Natembeya stated that his decision is based on a desire to complete his work addressing the specific challenges facing the residents of Trans Nzoia.

Natembeya expressed support for Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna’s presidential ambitions. Following a meeting with Sifuna and other Western Region leaders at his Kitale home, Natembeya indicated plans to mobilize the Luhya community to vote as a unified bloc under a single political party. The regional leaders intend to tour all 38 constituencies in the region to support Sifuna’s national campaign.
