Governor Osvaldo Jaldo signs decree for May 9, 2027 Tucumán election
Governor Osvaldo Jaldo felt a sudden chest pain while on a flight from Tucumán to Buenos Aires and was quickly hospitalized. He underwent angioplasty with a stent placed at the Hospital Italiano in Buenos Aires, thanked Interior Minister Diego Santilli for his response and was urged to seek immediate medical care. During his treatment vice‑governor Miguel Acevedo assumed executive duties. After a successful procedure, Jaldo was discharged, returned to Tucumán and resumed his gubernatorial responsibilities.
Back in office, Jaldo signed a decree that schedules provincial elections for Sunday 9 May 2027, separating the provincial calendar from the national elections planned for October 2027. The decree also incorporates for the first time the "Clean Record" (Ficha Limpia) requirement. Voters will choose a governor, vice‑governor, provincial legislators, mayors, councilors and 93 communal delegates. Jaldo affirmed, "Salí fortalecido y en lo político no retrocederé un tranco".
Entities: Diego Santilli · Hospital Italiano · Hospital Italiano (Buenos Aires) · Miguel Acevedo · Osvaldo Jaldo · Tucumán Province
