Governor Raúl Jalil equips Catamarca volunteer fire brigades after miner rescue

Governor Raúl Jalil met with representatives of the Federation of Volunteer Firefighters of Catamarca and members of the Santa María fire station, thanking them for rescuing miners who had become isolated in the province’s Puna region during severe snowfalls. The meeting also included provincial ministers Alberto Natella (Government, Security and Justice) and Juan Marchetti (Treasury and Public Works), as well as civil‑protection director Walter Zárate.

Jalil announced the purchase of new equipment for all 15 volunteer fire stations in Catamarca and pledged additional funding for the federation to allocate resources among the brigades, aiming to strengthen operational capacity and improve working conditions in the challenging terrain and climate.
