Governor Roberto Cidade inaugurates upgrades at two major Manaus health facilities

On Friday, July 3, Amazonas Governor Roberto Cidade delivered the completion of renovation works at the Fundação Centro de Controle de Oncologia do Estado do Amazonas (FCecon) in Manaus. The oncology center received structural modernisation, enlarged ambulatory space and upgraded patient‑care processes, aiming to improve comfort and efficiency for the roughly 300 oncology patients served. Patient Alice Mota thanked the governor, saying, “We are eternally grateful for the new space we are receiving today.”

In the same ceremony, the Fundação Hospital do Coração Francisca Mendes also opened a new phase of its modernization. The upgrades added several new consult rooms and expanded the reception area, increasing waiting‑room capacity from about 50 to 200 seats. Governor Cidade said the changes will allow the hospital to provide more humane and positive treatment for cardiovascular patients. Both projects are part of the Amazonas state government's broader investment to strengthen public health infrastructure in the region.
