Governor Roberto Cidade inspects new health facilities in Manaus
Governor Roberto Cidade toured several ongoing health‑care projects in Manaus, Brazil, on June 24‑25. He visited the Fundação Centro de Controle de Oncologia (FCecon) and the Serviço de Pronto Atendimento Coroado, where renovations are expanding reception capacity, improving accessibility, and modernising oncology and emergency services.
He also inspected the first Public Health School of Amazonas and a new Polyclinic and Hospital‑Day at the Complexo Hospitalar Sul. The school will host medical and multiprofessional residency programs and serve over 24,000 health workers, while the hospital‑day unit is slated to treat more than 800 patients daily with specialties such as gynecology, orthopedics and urology. The upgrades aim to streamline patient flow, reduce waiting times and enhance the overall quality of public health services in the state.
