Governor Rogelio Frigerio unveils centralized drug procurement system in Entre Ríos

Governor Rogelio Frigerio toured a new logistics centre in Entre Ríos where a centralized system for purchasing and distributing medicines, medical products and dairy formulas for the public health network has been implemented. The initiative, presented with Health Minister Daniel Blanzaco, aims to reduce public spending, increase transparency, harmonise prices, improve stock control and ensure timely delivery of essential supplies. Earlier each hospital bought independently, creating price gaps of up to 50 %. The new model reports savings of billions of pesos and attracted 14 supplier bids, expanding competition.

At the same time, Frigerio assumed the pro tempore presidency of the Región Centro, the main productive integration block of Argentina covering Entre Ríos, Córdoba and Santa Fe. During the XIX Junta de Gobernadores in San Francisco, Córdoba, the Casa de la Región Centro was inaugurated. The bloc accounts for 19.5 % of national GDP and 36 % of exports. Frigerio outlined an agenda to boost infrastructure, competitiveness and international market integration, including support for Mercosur‑EU trade agreements and the creation of a control council for the main inland waterway.
