Rogelio Frigerio visits folk music legend Víctor Velázquez

Governor Rogelio Frigerio visited 95-year-old musician Víctor Velázquez, a prominent figure in Argentine folklore and a representative of the culture of Entre Ríos. Velázquez is a singer, guitarist, poet, and composer with a career spanning over six decades.

Velázquez has performed across America, Europe, and Asia, and is a frequent participant in the Cosquín National Folklore Festival. His work includes collaborations with the renowned Atahualpa Yupanqui and Jorge Méndez. Among his more than 80 compositions, the instrumental milonga ‘La Primavera’ is considered a masterpiece for its ability to recreate natural sounds, such as the song of the tero, through the guitar.

The visit follows the enactment of Law No. 11,294, which officially established June 4—Velázquez's birthday—as the ‘Día de la Milonga Entrerriana’ in his honor.
