Governor Seyi Makinde Honors Late Father at 14th Memorial Service in Ibadan

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde attended the 14th memorial service for his late father, Pa Olatunbosun Makinde, held at the Cathedral of St. Peter, Aremo in Ibadan. He described his father as a trusted adviser and the only person who could look him in the eyes and tell him the truth, saying he still misses his guidance. Makinde and his senior brother, Chief Muyiwa Makinde, laid wreaths at the graves of their father and mother, Madam Abigail Makinde. Bishop Rev. Williams Aladekugbe, of the Ibadan North Diocese, highlighted Pa Olatunbosun Makinde's lifelong devotion to Christianity, the church, and the community, urging Christians to emulate his faith and service. The bishop also congratulated the governor on the recent rescue of abducted teachers and pupils from Oriire Local Government Area and praised the peaceful atmosphere in Oyo State during Makinde’s administration.
