Governor Soludo visits Canada to study innovation and diaspora investment

Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo recently visited Canada to study innovation ecosystems and economic development models. During his mission, which included participation in the Nigeria Diaspora Economic Development Conference in Toronto, Soludo toured the Brampton Innovation District and met with leaders from organizations such as Altitude Accelerator, Brampton Venture Zone, and Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst.

Soludo’s objective was to understand the infrastructure, talent pipelines, and public-private partnerships that allow innovation hubs to thrive. He expressed interest in applying these success factors to transform Anambra into a competitive economic landscape.

In addition to studying technological hubs, Soludo is contemplating the creation of a professionally managed, commercially driven investment vehicle for Anambra State. This institutional mechanism is intended to allow Nigerians in the diaspora to pool capital and participate in large-scale industrial and transformational projects, rather than requiring individual investors to establish independent businesses.
